In Bangladesh, people often suffers from natural disasters. SHAPLA NEER
carries out emergency relief operations not only in the area where we usually
work but also in other areas when SHAPLA NEER considers necessary.
A recent example can be seen in the flood which attacked the country
in August, 1998. SHAPLA NEER did relief operation like giving out daily
necessities and also rehabilitation such as to restore roads. Also, in
2001, SHAPLA NEER support relief and rehabilitation in Gujarat, India
after the earthquake as well as the relief activities for the internal
displaced persons in Afghanistan through Oxfam International.
